COVID UPDATE AND FAQ

  • CCS will not contact trace or quarantine close contacts from individual* positive COVID-19 cases reported.

  • Students/staff do not need to quarantine if exposed to a positive COVID-19 individual outside of school.

  • Students/staff do not need to quarantine if someone in their home tests positive for COVID-19.

  • Masks are not required in any setting within the schools.

Following are some FAQs to help clarify specific scenarios that families may encounter during this transition:

  • Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 will be required to stay home and away from others for until at least 24 hours after both their symptoms are getting better overall, and they have not had a fever for 24 hours (and are not using fever reducing medication). The individual is encouraged to take added precaution over the next five days after time at home, away from others, is over.

  • School nurses will not be contact tracing or identifying close contacts from school exposure. If an individual believes they have had exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, they should monitor for symptoms and stay home if they have any symptoms of COVID-19.

  • If someone who lives in the family home has tested positive for COVID, the student or staff member can continue coming to school, but should be monitoring daily for symptoms, and should stay home if they have any symptoms of COVID-19.

We are excited to continue this transition back to pre-pandemic normalcy within our schools! To make sure this transition goes smoothly, we ask that everyone stay diligent in monitoring their students and themselves for any COVID-19 symptoms. Bottom line, if a student or staff member is sick, please stay home until symptoms are improving. This will help reduce the spread of ALL transmittable illness, including COVID-19.
