Our mission is to ensure all students’ academic success in a safe and connected environment.
Starting preschool is an exciting milestone! At Mini Minutemen Preschool, we want to ensure every child feels comfortable and confident as they take this big step. Here are some signs that your child may be ready to join us at Concord Community Schools.
Is Your Child Somewhat Independent?
Preschoolers thrive when they can handle small tasks on their own. Can your child follow simple directions, wash their hands after playing, or put on their shoes with little assistance? These are great signs of readiness!
Is Your Child Potty-Trained?
At Mini Minutemen Preschool, we understand that accidents happen—it's all part of the learning process! However, children should be mostly independent in using the restroom, including recognizing when they need to go and managing basic self-care. Our teachers are there to support and encourage, but consistent potty training helps ensure a smooth preschool experience.
Has Your Child Spent Time Away from You?
If preschool is your child’s first extended time away from home, it may feel overwhelming at first. Preparing them with short stays at a grandparent’s house or a playdate with friends can help ease the transition.
Does Your Child Enjoy Activities Like Puzzles or Art?
Children who can focus on simple activities—like building with blocks, coloring, or completing puzzles—will find preschool engaging and enjoyable.
Can Your Child Follow Simple Directions?
Listening and following directions are key preschool skills. If your child can respond to simple requests like “line up by the door” or “put your toys away,” they’re on the right track!
Does Your Child Understand Sharing and Taking Turns?
Preschool is a great place to learn social skills, but some familiarity with sharing and turn-taking will help your child make friends more easily.
Is Your Child Comfortable with Group Activities?
From storytime to group play, preschool involves plenty of teamwork and interaction. If your child enjoys engaging with other kids, they may be ready for a classroom setting.
Is Your Child Used to a Regular Routine?
Preschool follows a structured daily schedule. If your child is used to set mealtimes, naps, and playtimes, they’ll likely transition smoothly.
Does Your Child Have the Energy for Preschool?
Preschoolers stay busy! If your child can handle moving between activities without becoming too overwhelmed, they may be ready for a full- or half-day program.
Do You Feel Your Child is Ready?
As a parent, you know your child best. If you believe they’re ready for preschool, we’d love to meet your child! We look forward to serving your family!
